HDTV?

I just moved into the area on Friday and was setting up my utilities and I was told by Service Electric Cable that they do not offer an HDTV package, I also do not have access to the south sky to pickup a direct tv signal, so I'm stuck with my brand new HDTV, being delivered in a few days, and no hi-def signal. Has anyone had any luck picking up an HD signal using an antenna?

Unfortunately I've tried several different things, and the signals I finally get are anything BUT "hi def." Oh, they come in via the hi-def channel, but they're so snowy that it's not worth the effort.

We're just too far, even from Allentown. Plus, we're surrounded by hills.
