Block Party?

Seems like these developments would be great for block parties yet I haven't seen any around here yet. Is it that none are happening or I'm just not invited? :(

When I first moved into one of the developments here (nine years ago), they did have a block party every year. However, after a year or two, it got to the point where no one wanted to bring any food and so the group of people who organized things decided it would be a catered affair and people who wanted to attend the party would have to pay so much for adults to chow down on barbecued chicken and so much for kids who would be having hot dogs. That was the last block party.

I thought Greenwich Chase had a development-wide block party during the summer - didn't they have a big banner up at the entrances some weeks back advertising it?
