Default White forks in your lawn

I was wondering if anyone knew what the meaning of forks stuck into your front lawn upside down is? I passed a house on Main Street yesterday and there were about a hundred white forks stuck in the front lawn upside down and they weren't there today :?:

Sounds like some kind of Voo-Doo deal. Interesting.

This is a common high school prank that kids do. I remember seeing something about this on MTV. It has nothing to do with voodoo. It's just funny to walk outside your house and see a couple hundred forks sticking out in the ground

John is right. Forking is simply a kid's prank.
Spooning is cuddling, and knifing is bloody, so forking is pretty tame.

But what does "forking" mean? And I'm not trying to be funny

    Oh but funny you are!

Poking a fork into something (lots and lots of them, in the ground in this case) is forking.

A friend told me that she saw a "women" placing the forks into the lawn during the day. That doesn't sound like a childhood prank.

    Default forks in lawn

It has something to do with a celebration of years like a birthday.
