Once again, it appears I am the only one here with a solution. Time to make some life choices so you can take care of your own responsibilities, instead of trying to tax others to cover your mistakes. What is your solution to this Concerned? You are pretty good at regurgitating the same old public school teacher platitudes, but never offer any real solutions. No wonder you only make 53k per year, you aren’t worth any more. Believe it.

See Sam...you have poor reading/listening skills. Read again what I wrote. Did I ever say anything was wrong with walking? No, I only said you have a poor way with words.
See Sam....poor reading skills. And I really don't care what you think I am worth.... "be who you are, and say what you feel...because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind" -dr. seuss |

By the way Sam.... You have just agreed with me and probably don't even realize it because you are so busy being angry...
You said, " No wonder you only make 53k per year" Thank you! You finally agreed that teachers are generally paid too little.

Sam,
I do not think there is anyone here that minds having their kids walk to school, I know I do not. My daughter is actually looking forward to it. However, the Township is required by law from the Dept of education website: Q. Who is responsible for safe travel along public roadways or walkways? A. Case law has long held that safety along public roadways and walkways is a municipal responsibility. It is for this reason that municipalities install sidewalks, traffic signals and signs, and paint crosswalks. Pursuant to section 40A:9-154.1 of New Jersey statute, school crossing guards are appointed by the municipality and are under the supervision of the chief of police or other chief law enforcement officer. With above in mind the school should be looking at:NJAC 6A:27-1.3 (c) Whenever a district board of education agrees to provide nonmandated transportation to and from school for reasons of hazard, the board shall adopt a hazardous busing policy in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:39-1.5. There is a lot to be upset about here from both form of government. The school has been threatening for years to take away courtesy busing and the Township has not planed for that eventuality. As I always say in the office " Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance" And what we are seeing now is a lack of future planning coming to bite everybody in the ass. |

Instead of hiring more crossing guards, why not use some of these worthless cops . They don’t have anything else to do, except drive around at 90 MPH and make issues out of nothing for local residents. Or fire some cops and hire some crossing guards, one or the other too much redundancy having them both.
